Senior Home Visitation – March 2nd, 2013

Cambie Lions show our spirit again cheering up for our seniors in Cathay Villa Senior Home for Chinese New Year!  Thanks Lion Jeremy Wong who has taken wonderful pictures capturing the beautiful young dancers, happy faces on the floor and enthusiastic members demonstrating Lions spirit and passion for front line work.

Annual Fundraising Event for Canadian Cancer Society – Charity Gold Snake

Guests who attended our 18th anniversary party had a sneak peak of the real thing.  The Charity Gold Snake of 2013, the featured item for the annual fundraising event for Canadian Cancer Society has been shown to the guests first hand.  Over 100 units had been sold during the event thru sponsorship sign-up.

We have cancelled Mall Sales for 2013.  That means the only way public can get their hands on this item is through our generous sponsors.

18th Anniversary and Christmas Party (Dec 16th, 2012)

Feature Dinner and Dance with SignPost at River Rock Resort!  16 tables of members, families and guests had a lot of fun during the event.  We had a great buffet, exciting raffles draw and excellent silent auction.  $3,400 was raised and donated toLion Foundation of Canadian Dog Guide that evening.

Drive For Food with Dueck GM

Date: August 26th, 2012

Time: 11am to 6pm

Venue: Lansdowne Mall, Richmond (North East Parking Lot)

When you test drive a participating GM vehicles on Sunday August 26th, 2012, GM will donate $25 to Food Bank to help those in needs of help.  Yes!  That’s all you need to do to in order to help someone out there!  isn’t it easy?  Gather your family members and friends who have a valid BC Driver’s License and meet us up in Lansdowne Mall this Sunday!

Fundraising for Vancouver Cambie Leos Club and Strathcona Community Dental Clinic

The evening features excellent Chinese dinning, raffle draws, Leos Performance and Karaoke fundraising.  Everyone is welcome to sing or pledge someone to sing.  Download Pledge Form.  Proceed of the evening with be donated to Vancouver Cambie Leos Club and Strathcona Community Dental Clinic – a non-profit clinic for children.

To be installed are the new Board of Directors for Vancouver Cambie Lions Club and Vancouver Cambie Leos Club.

Vancouver Cambie Leos Spelling Bee Contest on May 6th (Sunday)

Right around the corner on the calendar is our Spelling Bee Event!  Please see event chairperson Lion Dr Vivian Lo’s words below.

“Please be reminded that the Final of Spelling Bee 2012 will be held on Sunday, May 6 from 2pm to 5pm at the Aberdeen Centre. We will have great times then and please join us as far as possible … I request that you wear your uniform (brown blazer) if you come and we try to have an opportunity to take a group picture with the participants near the end of the event. It is a grand and enjoyable event every year.

FYI, we have raised app. $6100 (cost $1500) at this point and look forward to raising 1 to 2 more thousand dollars on the event day. Your support will certainly make a difference!”

TV-Radio-Telethon for Canadian Cancer Society

Once again, Vancouver Cambie Lions together our Leos, families and friends made this meaningful event a successful one!  From morning to mid-night, thanks to the hardwork of all members, we managed the phone center perfectly.  Not to list all the names because it will be very long, but nevertheless, big thanks to all participating volunteers, we have raised over $90,000 forCCS that day alone!

Spring Conference Contest Result

Vancouver Cambie Lions has made excellent result again this year.  Of course we were all there for the fun of it mainly but it’s nice to top it with nice contest result.  Please see Chairperson President Elect Lion Clement’s thank you note.
