Canadian Cancer Society Telethon 2017 set on April 8
The annual CCS Telethon is here! It is scheduled for Saturday April 8 from 11am to midnight! As usual, VCLC members and volunteers will man the phone center. We need a lot of people to cover different shifts to take as many pledge calls as we can. It is going to be exciting and fun.

We did it again! On April 9, 2016, Cambie Lions and volunteers once again occupied the phone centre at Canadian Cancer Society to take pledges from all over the country. The Canadian Cancer Society event has raised over $120,000 this year!

Once again we did it! On April 18th, 2015, Cambie Lions and friends are all in to take pledge calls from around the nation to support Canadian Cancer Society.
Radio-Telethon – Chinese Community Fundraising CCS
Another wonderful year! $108,000 raised for a day of hard work! Thank you all volunteers!
On April 12th, 2014 Saturday, Vancouver Cambie Lions Club and volunteers spent the whole day taking public’s pledge to support Canadian Cancer Society’s annual Telethon fund raising event. The event features stories of real-life cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Volunteers organized into 3 shifts covering from 11am till 12 midnight at the phone center at which we take calls from all over the country. We definitely had a great time giving back to our community on that day.
Special thanks to great food and treat from President Elsie, IPP Clement and PP Raymond! Thank you all volunteers!

“I sincerely thank our President for adding more food for the volunteers at the telephone center. I have never seen so much food for a similar event. BTW, we also extended a friendly hand to volunteers from other groups. They shared our good food and warm friendship. This is the real meaning of this event.
I thank Bonnie and Johnny who had invited many of their friends who added excellent help to us. Clement and Raymond bought tasty cold drinks for our members. Clement and Virginia arrived at the venue at 10:30am and they spent much effort making the event a success. I believe all volunteers also enjoyed the fresh fruit prepared by me.
This is an amazing event anyway for it showed the remarkable leadership of our beautiful President and the benevolent big hearts from all of you!”

TV-Radio-Telethon for Canadian Cancer Society
Once again, Vancouver Cambie Lions together our Leos, families and friends made this meaningful event a successful one! From morning to mid-night, thanks to the hardwork of all members, we managed the phone center perfectly. Not to list all the names because it will be very long, but nevertheless, big thanks to all participating volunteers, we have raised over $90,000 forCCS that day alone!

Telethon on April 9th, 2011
Just like every year, Vancouver Cambie Lions members and friends has hosted the phone centre for the TV-Radio-Telethon to rasie fund for Canadian Cancer Society. There were about 100 people in and out of the phone centre from 12:00noon to 12:00midnight. At peak hour from 6pm to 10pm, there is a volunteer attending almost every phone.
For the evening, we have recieved over $97,700 of pledges.
